The Sabra Edible Garden represents a unique partnership for healthier communities. Renew’s latest project brings a successful corporation together with a local high school to grow nutritious food and spread the word about how to be healthy.
The beginning of the project is a 4,000 square foot Renew-built garden at the Sabra Chesterfield County plant. The fresh fruits and veggies that we grow will go to the Sabra employee community as well as communities within food desert areas. Sabra is also lending volunteers and helping to fund our educational program at George Wythe High School.
The project also features onsite events that highlight what makes gardening awesome—delicious food and entrepreneurial opportunities to help educate the Sabra employee community:
–Seasonal Edible Garden Work Parties
–Classes from a Master Chef and Nutritionist
–Pop Up Farmers Markets
Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page. Renew, Sabra and George Wythe are just getting started.
